Vegan French Onion Dip
This Vegan French Onion Dip is a creamy and flavorful alternative to the classic dip. Made with caramelized onions, cashews, and savory seasonings, it's perfect for parties, game nights, or anytime you're craving a delicious snack.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup raw cashews, soaked in water for 4 hours, then drained
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives, for garnish
Instructions:
The cashews should be soaked first
Add 1/2 cup of water to a blender and blend until smooth
Put away
Set a pan on medium heat and add the olive oil
After you add the sliced onions, cook, stirring every now and then, for about 20 to 25 minutes, or until the onions are caramelized and golden brown
To the pan, add minced garlic and cook for two more minutes
Add the garlic and onions that have been caramelized to the blender with the cashew mixture
To the blender, add salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, soy sauce, and food yeast
Blend until everything is smooth and well mixed
Put the dip in a bowl, top it with chopped chives, and serve it with your favorite chips or vegetable sticks
